best 30 days ever!

My husband has had the past 21 days off and they have been great. In 9 short days my husband will have to report to his new ship. So back to long work days and deployments. In these past 21 days we've had so much fun as a family. I've loved hanging out with him and watching him teach his kids how to fish. The memories he made with them were priceless.

Our new house is finally coming together and looks like a home. We bought a new (to us) van and it's prudy. Fully loaded and everything. My husband said as we drove off the lot "we're shittin in the big woods now, this is the nicest vehicle we're ever had" lol but he's right.

On top of all that, yesterday I joined a gym. I get 2 hrs of free daycare a day. I'm most excited about that. I'm excited to finally be skinny again too. It's been far too long. I'm tried of being fat. I can't wait!!

Disney World and Sea World

This weekend my brother and sister in law came to visit. It had been far to many years since we had seen them. Plus it was our first time meeting our niece. So since they were here for the weekend, we decided to go to Disney World (Magic Kingdom) and Sea World.

Disney was fun but we just didn't have enough time in the day to see everything in the park. The kids had fun though and that's all that mattered to us. We wanted it to be all about them. My 5 yr old had the most magical experience with Cinderella. It was truely magical and made me tear up. My 3 yr old was so happy he got to see and meet Buzz Lightyear. We are planning our trip to go next year when daddy gets home from Deployment and we can fly Nana down. We're hoping to spend a week down there.

There are so many more pictures. I'll post some more later

A gift to my parents

This weekend my parents came down to spend it with the kids. This was their last weekend before we move. Right now we're only 5 hours away but come Thursday we'll be 12 hour away :( My mom is taking this move especially hard. Her and my dad are so good to my kids. The kids love spending time with them. So I was trying to think of something to make for them, from the kids of course. WE made them cute coffee cups but I wanted to do something better. Now mind you, I lack crafty skills. I am just not a crafty person no matter how hard I try. My mom always says to the kids "I love you to the moon and back" so I thought it would be really cute to make a sign for them to hang in their room from the kids. I was going to make one for each kid to hang in their room too but after making one I've decided to just order some from

PCSing, I should be a pro by now

This is not my first rodeo but it sure does feel that way. I don't know if this happens to other Military wives but every time we move it feels like the first time. I can never remember how we did things last time. This is our first move with 3 kids. That alone is stressing me out. I have to pack and organize for 5 people plus 2 pets. Families bigger then mine, I have no idea how you do it. But I give you mad props.

Today to mover came to pack. The company scheduled two pack days but apparently we don't have as much crap as they thought. The packers got it all done today. We have decided to camp it out in the house for the next 2 nights. Friday the movers come to load it all and my parents come to take the kids for the weekend. All weekend I get to clean and paint the house...yay.....not! I always feel like I leave my house nicer then when we moved in.

I think the one thing I'm dreading the most is the drive. We have to make a 12 hr drive. We have 2 cars so I will drive the van with 2 kids and the dog. My husband will drive his hunk of junk with a kid and the cat. At this point I'm just praying his car makes it to Florida. I am fully prepared to sell it for scrap if it doesn't. lol.

Busy Busy

This week was a busy one. My 5 yr old had to have dental surgery :( poor girl was scared but it all went well. She had 2 teeth pulled and the Tooth Fairy left her 4 dollars. She was so excited!

And in recovery. She was such a trooper.

Last night I woke up to feed the baby, who at 15 months is still waking up in the middle of the night. Anyways I stumble downstairs to put milk in his bottle. The light above the sink is on as well as the light on the deck. As I walked to the fridge something on the deck caught my eye. As I look out I see this big ass raccoon having his way with my trash that I forgot to take down to the can before bed. Damn critter. He's lucky I don't have a bb gun or I would of shot at him.

A dusting of snow

Last night we literally got a dusting of snow. Maybe an inch total. And I get a call from the school saying it's a code blue and their closed and then the base has a 2 hr delay. Seriously?! It seems to me that we're calling these closings and delays way to early. A friend of mine on a military message board I'm on www.supportonthehomefront.com told me about this funny commercial that Dodge did to kind of make fun of the Snowmageddon that people get worked up over.

This is what we woke up to this morning. THIS is the snowmageddon that canceled school and delayed the base. As you can see, the grass is still showing.

Our whole inch accumulation

Because of this "blizzard" the base clinic opened at 10 which made me reschedule a very important appointment that I had for 9:55. This whole thing made my day a mess. Tomorrow will be even crazier I'm sure. Adapt and overcome right?

Wonderful weekend!

This past weekend I flew to Tennessee to see a friend that lives in Kentucky. When I first got to the south I have to say that it was a truly amazing experience. People in the south are so nice. I'd never experienced something like that living up north.

Saturday we got up early and drove about an hour and a half this really cute Donut Shop called Yum Yums. A friend of hers owns it and starting to franchise it. So if you ever see one, stop in. Her donuts are way better then Dunkin or Crispy Creme. So while the guys fixed up buggies, us girls went to the Jack Daniels Distillery in Lynchburg TN. It was pretty cool to learn all the stuff about it. Like that Jack was 14 when he opened his distillery and that he was 5 foot 2 inches tall and wore a size 4 shoe. He was a tiny little man.

Then on Sunday we went and met another military wife friend that we met online years ago. So we drove to Ft. Knox. She was just as amazing in person as she is online. I'm so glad I got to meet her.

Monday we went to Nashville which was a blast. We went to the Country Music Hall of Fame. That in itself was a great experience. I got to see so much great memorabilia. I highly recommend it to anyone that take a trip down there.

Then Tuesday I was to fly home. I missed my flight and had to catch a different one but thankfully I was able to get home that night. All in all it was a great trip with a great friend.

People are dumb

So today I took my dog to the vet. She needed her annual blood work done. My dog is a black lab. She is suppose to be pure bred but she has a beard and a wirery coat but whatever she's an amazing dog and we love her the same. Okay so we are at petsmart and I hate to go there b/c of the comments we get. My dog is right up there with my children. So please tell me why on earth people think it's okay to say things like "bless her heart look at her scruffy face" or "oh my what breed is he" Okay well first of all SHE wears a bright neon pink collar so HE is a SHE thankyouverymuch. Second of all, would you ever walk up to a child's parent and say "bless her heart, what's wrong with her face?" NO YOU WOULDN'T. So why on gods green earth would you say that to a pet owner? It pisses me off so bad. She is my dog and she is precious.

So then we are in the check out and the lady at the register says "oh my, she looks like she's mixed with some type of terrier" I ignore her. Then she says "Oh and it looks like she has some black on her tongue, she might have a little Chow in her too" Really lady? You work at a pet store and you are stupid. Having black spots on a dogs tongue is nothing but pigment. It has nothing to do with a dogs breed. People are morons and it's worse when you work at a pet store and say really dumb things regarding animals.

We love our bearded lady <3

longest day of my life

Never have I ever wanted it to be bedtime for the kids more then I do tonight. I am so over today in general really. We did a bunch of shopping. You know, got our tax return. Paid a bunch of bills, then went shopping. I got a new laptop since my husband is going back to Sea Duty and will need one for himself. No way in hell am I giving him a new laptop. So..the spoiled little princess I am, got a new laptop and my husband gets my old one. My new one is super cute and has a ton of space for all my pics and junk. Down side, the key placement is off b/c of this weird row of keys to the left.

Then we went shopping for a new washer and dryer. I had planned to use out DLA when we moved for a new pair BUT...my dryer is shitting the bed sooner then I had planned. With a family of 5 and at least 2 loads of laundry being done a day, I do not have time to dry my loads 2 sometimes 3 times just for them to dry. So we found a awesome set at this store called HHGREG. They are HE and the agitator is really low JUST WANT I WANTED! I'm super stoked to get them on Monday.

Then we went to Best Buy to get an external hard drive to take all my pictures off my old laptop.

THEN.... we came home with SECONDS to spare of my preschooler getting off the bus..whew... I literally walked in the door, fed the baby and put him down for a very late but much needed nap and left for the commissary. We needed groceries so bad. You know you've stretched the food long enough when your little kids say "wow the freezer is so empty, we have no food" lol. On top of regular shopping I needed to buy all this crap for our Super Bowl party. I was already super tired from the long day so the thought of killing a few people in the store crossed my mine a time or two.

Got home and fed everybody crap for dinner b/c THIS CHICK isn't cooking a damn thing tonight. I am beat! My house could burn down around me right now and I can assure you, my ass is not coming off this couch. The older kids are headed to bed now but b/c of the babies super late nap this afternoon, he is nowhere near tired :( I've offered my husband anything he wants if he will just play with the baby and tire him out. We'll see how that goes. But for today I'm done. This has been the longest day of my life...

No more toys everrrrrrr

Today we cleaned and decluttered the playroom. I'm not going to sit here and make my life seem like butterflies and rainbows and make you believe my house is out of a Better Homes and Garden magazine. This is what the playroom looked like before we started

Ridiculous right? Hell yes. I can clean that thing everyday but it continues to breed it seems. So my solution was to go through it and get rid of stuff THEN take the stuff that we are keeping and cut it in half. So we bought a bunch of bins and put half of them away. This took us nearly 3 hrs. Doing this with 3 kids under foot was not an easy task. I had them taking stuff out of the throw away pile, we had melt downs of toys being tossed and we had a baby going behind us throwing stuff around.

But somehow we managed to get the entire thing cleaned, organized and sanitized. It feels so nice to have control over it. After all that time effort and energy we have this

weekend ramble

For the next 9 days I get my husband home. I'm pretty excited about that. We have a lot of things to do before the move. So it'll be a big help to have him here. This weekend we plan to pull out the fridge and stove. I have a mile long list of things to do. We have about 48 days until the big day. :freakout:

I am so ready for some Florida sunshine. So for that, I give you picture of the day

(disclaimer, this is not my picture. I found it on photobucket)

Fun in the snow

Today I played out in the snow with the kids. We had a blast! After sledding for an hour, mama realized how out of shape I am. I mean I knew I was fat but damn. Walking up and down that hill was killer. But the kids has a blast and that's all that matters. We made snow balls, mini snowmen and snow angels.

Happy Humpday!

Tonight we are having a snow storm. Our first one of the year. I've been waiting for a good snow, for the kids. I'm sure school will be cancelled tomorrow. That will make 3 days straight Ella has been home from school. She hasn't had a full week since Christmas vacation. Yesterday and today were for high school exams. Kinda of ridiculous.

On another note, my husband gets his braces off next month. The dental clinic on base plays a little game when you get your last wires put on. His dentist and her assistance get to pick your colors. So, my husband being the good sport he is, agreed. His only term was NO PINK! So this is what he came home like...

It's not pink lol

So let's talk about Craigslist and scams. Let's be real. You can't trust anyone anymore. So I'm skeptical of everyone who sells their crap. Anyways, I cam across a Nikon D90 with nice lenses for only $400. That makes me automatically think, "this is too good to be true" After asking one of my closest friends who is super smart and knowledgeable, she says "if it works that's a awesome deal" I think I'll email the person and ask why they are selling the camera and for so cheap. It just makes you think, who all gets scammed daily on craigslist.

I guess that's the end of my Wednesday rambling lol

Naked Ken

So today I was cleaning up the playroom and found my daughters Ken barbie doll in a compromising position lol I guess my daughter doesn't like his "goods" being shown. Because this is how I found him

How we met

Josh and I both went to Highschool overseas. Both our parents were in the military over there. My dad was in the Army and his Step father was in the Dutch Army. We went to a DOD school. I remember Josh was the new kid our Sophomore year. I was pretty and popular and he was hot. I knew he liked me b/c he was mean to me in a flirty way. But I was not really into him.

A few days later we were all hanging out at the Teen Center on base. I had a friend that was trying to hook me up with Josh. He kept hounding me so finally I gave him the number to my friends house that I was staying at that night. I was sure he wouldn't call.
So I was surprised when he did. We ended up talking for hours that night. Turns out he wasn't such a punk. We decided to meet up the next day at the bases Fun for all Fest. I remember looking everywhere for him but we kept missing each other in the crowd. Finally we foudn eachother. We walked around, played games then decided to head over to the Bowling Alley. On the way over there I could tell he wanted to hold my hand but neither of us wanted to make the first move. Not a minute later, I tripped in a gofer hole and he was there to catch me. He grabbed my hand to stop me from falling
Later that night he wanted to go play basketball with his friend. Before he left he said "so, can we make this official" (yeah so romantic lol I hold it against him til this day, we laugh about it now) Of course I said yes.
The rest is history. We dated all through high school (on and off I might add)but somehow made it through. Right after high school he went to England to swear into the Navy. 6 wks later I flew to see him graduate and be his wife :) I know our story is kind of cheesy but I love a cheesy love story.

9 years ago today

I flew to the states to see Josh graduate from bootcamp. We knew we were going to get married on liberty weekend. But our families didn't know. We had been planning for this the whole time he was there. Every time he called me, he would give me more information on who to call and what we would need. On they day I flew out my parents took me to the airport. They made a comment about how heavy my suitcase was. I had packed my whole life in that suitcase. I knew I wasn't coming home. I felt terrible lying to my parents. But I knew if I told them our plans, they would of not let me board that plane.

I can't believe that it's been 9 yrs since that day. We were 2 young kids and now we are a family with 3 amazing children. We've had some rough times but always managed to make it through. I couldn't imagine my life without him in it. I am thankful for him. He's blessed me with 3 of the most precious gifts I could ever receive. I can't wait to grow old with him.

Commissary Chaos

Why is it that I can never go to the Commissary with me wanting to kill someone. Up here there is ALOT of retirees. This is pretty much where everyone comes to grow old. Every single time I go to the commissary I get stuck behind or in between old people. They seem to be in their own little world without a care in the world. Shuffling their little feet. On several occasions I've wanted to run them all over with my cart. Don't get me wrong, I'm not a complete bitch but come on. I'm trying to get in and get out, not be there all day. And then when I say excuse me, they look annoyed. Sorry old lady, I'm the one that is annoyed. Now move it or lose it sister.

On a completely different note. My little monkey has conquered the stairs. It is hilarious watching him come down. He slides down on his belly and yells. Of course you know I got it on video.

Mindless Monday

Do you ever wonder why you can go into a convenient store and buy beer either cold or warm, yet you can never go into any store and get a cold 12 pack of pop? I thought of that today when I went and bought some. We were completely out at the house and I needed some caffeine stat! That's when I thought of it. I don't have time to wait for it to get cold in the fridge and I hate drinking it out of a glass with ice. So why can we get a cold pack of pop? Think about it

Why must they fight?

Why oh why must my children fight, whine and cry? From the second that my oldest gets home from school the fighting begins. The whining if all day long with my middle and then when my oldest gets home from school she begins to whine and cry. I feel like I might lose my mind with all of this nonsense going on. To top that off my youngest went to his well baby check up today for me to find out that I forgot to take him to his 6 month well baby check up. So my poor sweet baby had to get SEVEN shots :( talk about feeling like total crap. So now he's super fussy b/c his legs hurt.

Today hasn't been the greatest day. But I'm happy and thankful to have each and everyone one of my children.

I'll sleep when I'm dead...right?

I hear that phrase all the time. My youngest is 1. He just turned 1 in December. The little turd wont sleep to save his life. I think he's slept through the night maybe 3 times since he was born. I have no idea what the problem is as we've tried everything under the sun to get him to sleep better. It's come to the point that I've had to make him a Dr. appointment to be evaluated. I can only hope that sooner rather then later. He and I both get the sleep we deserve.

On another note, we are about to PCS (move) to Florida. The move date is fast approaching. I can't wait to turn over a new leaf in life. To be back in a place that we love is the icing on the cake. It's going to be hard getting back into the swing of life on sea duty but I'm excited about the future. Terrified to be alone with all 3 kids but I can do it. I'm sad to have to quit my job. That in itself will take some adjusting. I haven't been a stay at home mom with 3 kids before. I need to find some resources to help it go smooth for all of us. I plan to take them to the beach a lot, well the 2 that wont be in school. The zoo is awesome there so we'll do that a lot too.

I will have a lot of free time to blog and plan to make it apart of my daily life. Maybe my nighttime unwind routine.

xoxo
